An old lady sneezed on the bus today
and the driver yelled out
God Bless You!
His benediction hung there
in the quiet morning rush
in the dust that drifted
in the slanted sun of near autumn
coming through the windows
And the dozen of us on the bus
realized that this was no mere driver
but a holy man
in masquerade
a messiah in blue shirt
his holy locks tucked
under a union cap
He later affirmed that he was
based on the aplomb displayed
with the hydraulic doors
and keeping people back
of the line

Dare I say, your poem is similarly a miraculous use of words, Chagall? 🙂
🙂 Thank you, Lorem I! Not a bad way to start a day. —–Chagall
You are blessed 😉
You are witty! And too kind. —–Chagall
God bless him. My life as a passenger is on his hands. 😛
Just pull on the rope, to ring the bell, when you want to get off. —–Chagall
Not when we get on an accident first?
Such a driver would hopefully steer you clear of any danger. Or maybe directly into it as a test. The bus is big and would probably win in most encounters. —–Chagall
Not exactly. We just a really bad accident when the drive plough through an oncoming trains in Canada. Terrible accident. So sad.
!!!
Yes, that is one of those encounters where the bus would certainly lose. My prayers for those involved in the crash at Ottawa. —–Chagall
Thank you, Chagall.
