I’m running downstairs
when my sock catches tread
for a moment only
and I feel
like I’m falling
till I right myself
in time
continue down
forgetting why
I started
this descent
to begin with.

I like it. I think however that I’m taking away something that wasn’t intended.
What is it that you’re taking away? —–Chagall
Something extremely literal. I can feel the lurch of terror that comes with nearly falling; a kind of lurch that breaks all previous thought. What was I doing, and why was it so important? And thus any event that brings one close to danger is like a marker for standing.
Very nice. Actually did intend some of that to be there, though your read has certainly magnified those elements. Thank you for your comments. —–Chagall
