Light In Sapphire

Moon-tide is passed, long ago it would seem
but its only been eons ago.

Moon-crazy lady lie down.

All is swept up and done, now
the world’s fast asleep.

Crazy lady says,  “Lie down, Moon!”

I remember nights that were once still before me,
mostly in summer, maybe spring.

Lazy lady-rivers fly down: moon crazy.

Lady lie down, haven’t seen you lately,
let’s await the next moon-tide meanwhile.

You turn a colander upside down
and place it atop the bowl of steaming jelly.

Next take a tea towel and put it like
a priest does on Sunday at communion’s end
lengthwise away from you, blocking the top holes of the colander mainly,
this way the steam vents through the sides,
helping the sauce to reduce.

And bugs don’t get in – well, some of them might, but not all.

It’s the best I’ve got.

…and just a touch of crush.
Of course I mean crushed red.

Madame Luna

All the light
I see tonight
is yours.

Moon crazy
scrolled shadows
along the fence.

Every cursive glint,
each specular hint
is you.

You remind darkened earth
of passing day and the lost reflections of sun.

Potluck tacos and beer tonight,
potluck tacos and beer!

Empty the fridge and heat it all up,
potluck tacos and beer!

Mix some masa, water and fry ’em
they are toothy, wholesome and sweet,
and these are the perfect companion
for your condiments, veggies and meat.

Oh… Potluck tacos and beer tonight,
potluck tacos and beer – no enchiladas

BIG FINISH
… potluck…

boomboom
tacos…
boom
and beeeeeeeeeeeeer!
(Someone hit that high note pleeeeeeease! – YEAH)

Thank you – goodnight and drive safely
