I thought I’d express it all in one breath
simply stream out all thoughts sans stops
But I faltered and fell on my face again
seems the usual fare these days
Spare a trifle my friend for a stanza or two
there I go again – nursery rhymes
Half the time I search for
the next time; absent yet deeply
not there
God, there’s ice chips everywhere!

It’s a two-player game
and the rules – she said – are few
Existentialists make it true,
find at least one who does
While universalists search
for the one who doesn’t
I kissed her goodbye, expressionless
humbled, ignorant
Propositionally speaking,
this was bound to happen,
proof by exhaustion
But man do I miss her cooking!

that part of my personality
which causes me to see
any aspect of the world
through rose-colored glasses
I think life will be
phenomenal from hereon
