A midnight bolero on the beach,
upright bass, piano, congero,
dos Latinas sing harmony
of lost loves, what could-have-been,
good and bad.
We shuffle our feet bare
through the sand
finding the beat
in the center of our soles
weighty and balanced.
How can one woman
smell and taste so good?
I carry your flavor,
exhale your scent.
We swing, sway
as one, navel
to navel, thigh
to thigh.
On barren shore, in silhouette,
palm to cheek, lips to the long
vein of your throat.
On the downbeat,
small light kisses.
Latinas in minor thirds,
so sad.
The rhythm of the trio
finds the upbeat to its liking
imparts a feel of flight,
of never letting go,
to search but not to find
release.
We are grooved deep in sand,
perfectly slotted, orbits
from millions of eternities,
beneath stars that burn hot
but not away.

Sabor A Mi lyrics
Tanto tiempo disfrutamos de este amor
nuestras almas se acercaron tanto a así
que yo guardo tu sabor
pero tú llevas también
sabor a mí.
Si negaras mi presencia en tu vivir
bastaría con abrazarte y conversar
tanta vida yo te dí
que por fuerza tienes ya
sabor a mí.
No pretendo ser tu dueño
no soy nada yo no tengo vanidad
de mi vida doy lo bueno
soy tan pobre, que otra cosa puedo dar.
Pasarán mas de mil años, muchos mas
yo no sé si tenga amor la eternidad
pero allá, tal como aquí
en la boca llevarás
sabor a mí.

This was beautiful! The first part, the word bolero, just captured me right away and the ending and the stars line was awesome!
Thank you so much, Oloriel! What more could one ask for from a reader’s comment? 🙂 —–Chagall

vein of your throat.
