Whysterical

I wish I was
a wisp of wisteria
winding to entwine

once wound we would
while away the day

I twine clockwise,
…you?

Inevitabile

I cannot protect you from it forever, but I can shield you from it, at least for this short while

Yet Suddenly

I can see the marks left by her lips
on the glass of the picture frame

where she kisses
each night
good night
his forehead

I’ll Tell You Who

You know who ruins the world?
I’ll tell you who ruins the world…
adults

fucking adults
ruin the world

Feeding Time

My thought wafts in the smoke,
a tiny dolphin behind
aquarium glass

We exchange a smile
before she turns,
swims away

Treat or Treat?

I see clearly
in the glass before me,
birds in flight behind me
and autumn leaves

in silhouette

She’s Part Poet

She spoke
in well-constructed phrases,
semicolons, commas, all
silken nakedness
under her camisole,
her parted mouth
a perfected ellipsis,
the race to her heart -
a dash.

No Delusions on the Rack

Whenever you have an Epiphany about yourself, consider it a perfect time to clean out your clothes closet

To Wing

There in the distant autumn,
the sound of bluejays on the wind
atop a heartbeat, a pulse -
ceasing to perish, a refusal
to ever say goodbye,
caws fade with flight, despite
all aspiration to the contrary

an echelon
a vee…vanishes
all for one and all but for one
becomes the single point
upon which we all converge

in time in sky we find
those similarly winged
