About the other day,
I know now that it’s gone
There was then
the slightest possibility
But you, of course
after all, were right
They come and they go
today more than ever
Despite
tenacious grip

I shake baby bees
Heavy laden with pollen
From the pistils
Of flowers I’ve picked
Brought inside
While she assumes
Infinite pose
On the warm, wood slats

The mind should gasp
not just gently yawn;
amazing sheer delight
of life
Goodnight dear
gentle people
the world over
is only just
beginning

Do you hear the rumble,
do you feel the shake
within?
Seems to pop
in this strangest place
All ways
always
are before you
And after all
is said and done
it’s sad to think
there’s only one
In memoriam

And in the end
she said you’re my favorite people
You kept things bright when lights were low
you were always there to let me know
Those hard times shared by all
are not so hard at all
O’ what a life!
I remember dancing with you all
a slow dance, a quick step
Strange I never heard
the music change
O’ what a life
isn’t it a crazy life
When everything you know
is still here when you go

She asked if the leaves would turn green again
I told her as far as I knew
Though this time was more than mere seasons change
I would rather she did not know
