Perhaps we are all
Afloat in this universe
Pending gestation

Someday – A Cherita

The crescendo of cicadas

Morning is hotter
than yesterday’s noon

A nonchalant wind imbued with the scent
of a distant ocean I’ll never see
blows by

(inspired by Celestine’s work at https://readinpleasure.wordpress.com/ )

EVO

From atop the altar, a humming sound,
the sweet scent of imminent grace,
morning light imbues stained glass
with timeless palpitation, what is old
is new once, ancient olive wood
balustrades provide steady ascent.

What’s that hovering o’er the assembled?
My soul resonates with the dissonant voicing
of the towering pipe-organ.

Chant, all you chanters.
Mais oui, absolument, chanté!

The good news is that
good news is
Truth.

From here atop the land-mound
I sing to the sun gods,
I reflect light back
To The Others on the land-mounds
Below Me, and They to Those
Below Them and on

We are One upon rich green rope,
buttery young olives.

Or

I did not think I would write today,
living life had more allure until
I reached too far, I felt too
deeply, I fell ever so gently
from such a short height,
that’s all it took
to be here.

A Life In The Day

Originally this began more ornately,
a broad-swept flourish, a pompadour,
a bob exploring the wind, arabesque
and filigree. An idiot’s tale?
Nothing less, and now it simply ends.

Lonely Chirps

Creatures of the kingdom appear to have homing instinct,
still I feel deep sadness for those who succeed to be lost.

For The Gusto

Today I planted four new trees, my goal is
to outlive each of them.

Written, Love Uncertain

I’m not sure
to trust in
my ear or my heart,
impatient
to convey, to commune, to go with
the rhythm already,
shunning sidestep,
when I breathe
the wax is eloquent,
each pause
brings new delight
in asides,
innuendo
more than any tryst
captured
a lover’s imagination,
a wink in due time,
and I am merely a waif
combed in elusive fashion.

For Marilyn

I am from the sun, unable to find my way
back home in the dark.
