They tell me that to live
you need full sunlight

So I gather you up, I take you
room to room

In winter too we search for light
east to west on a slight deep arc
we’re pitched more shallow

Where nurture is wan
we work harder for more

Time sometimes casts no shadow
I’ve found from time to time
yet I always feel I’m walking
beneath something

What is that thing
we’re walking under?

Full sunlight means there’s little time
for spending shadows if one’s to live

so let’s live it

find light in every darkness around
by doing so you will become light
by doing so you become light
by doing so become light
by doing so – light

intense
beautiful
reflective
sentient
being

Cherish The Flame

Can’t we simply
allow life to be
ebullience?

There is no day
for this is timeless
light at an angle
setting the stage
for me and you

The sun just beyond
the outskirts of the dome
casts a gold peach shine
that bakes us warm

I stand observed and seen
apart from any movement
of moments, even they
freeze

So still
one can hear
oneself breathe
one’s own breath
in the space of intervals
there’s lifetime

Let’s wait a beat
let’s bounce about
so ably we abound
round bottomed and bare

Plus Perfect

Intrigued, I asked her
could I peek behind the veil.

She obliged.

I’ve been immobile
since.

Condemned
to a single thought.

Intrigued, I had asked her.

Étoile

A shooting star
twilit celestial filaments
across my lashes no longer than half-an-inch

yet up there the fantail of light
is twice many billion miles
nearer than your lips and heart
to mine.

We caress at time’s edge
under corona, or maybe it’s umbra
but who’s to say?

Steady pulse
of shade to light
shadow to crown and
you to rain.

We are leaves invert
we are tips of roots
we are that from which all is derived
we are constellations.

We have begat
the universe

that which is
out there
is small.

Wondrous Ponder

I thought I’d express it all in one breath
simply stream out all thoughts sans stops

But I faltered and fell on my face again
seems the usual fare these days

Spare a trifle my friend for a stanza or two
there I go again – nursery rhymes

Half the time I search for
the next time; absent yet deeply
not there

God, there’s ice chips everywhere!

Touché!

She exclaimed
Such a beautiful church
it’s non-dimensional

I asked
You mean non-denominational,
don’t you?

She retorted
No, come look

She swung open the large wooden door.  I walked in.

Oh, I see what you mean.

Riff

On guitar I played phrases
turned and inverted to prove
my love soars more than melody

Beyond that I can’t even
begin to remember

Uncertain where dulcet
turns somber

turn, dip, samba sways,
more nighttime, these
dazes, I stagger

Arpeggios of frozen air
trickle, trip, keep trickling
tickling my mouth, merging with spirit
erupting in steel

Solid steel

I am
immovable. I
am . . .

Six-Sided Flakes In Moonlight

I love the way
sound sounds
in slow crunchy snowfall
there’s no doubt
that we’re inside
the dome

Break Slow

No wind
still arbors
living trees
in repose

Docile shaggy creatures
unwashed but scented
deeply of Mother
breathing

Absorb light
emit air
knee-deep
vernal pools

I am the sound
of the haze that’s risen
each morning heat cast
in winter chill

I am hope
pervasive
