Je Dois Partir Maintenant

I am moving off the grid
no longer found
at the intersection
of any lat or long -itude
confined within no cell
prescribed
there’s the writing
on the wall
you’ll see it once
you reassemble it
though it reads more
like graffiti

so sweetie I’m going

far
far

away

Haiku For Requiem

Sun despite our pain
Although life goes on it ends
Where bells toll, bells toll

Chagall 2015

I open the door

eddies of leaf tornadoes
dry swept streamers
pirouette

somewhere rain falls

warm
inside the chill

breathing

21 years since you passed
today, 21 years Chloe

I felt you strongly while driving,
called out your name, give me a sign
that you’re there, that you hear

I cried when the car
ahead of me turned
to reveal a truck in front
with license plate CHL124

I love you Chloe

Six-Sided Flakes In Moonlight

I love the way
sound sounds
in slow crunchy snowfall
there’s no doubt
that we’re inside
the dome

Concept

A pulse
Feel it?
There!

indeed
a pulse

these holy
sparks of light
cackle electric

Chagall 2015

I carry around a tumbler
of ice and whiskey
to disguise the fact
that I’m actually stoned.

Here Today . . .

She’d already begun her fade to phantasm
a moment before dodging the flood,
how nimbly she came and went at will
a slow pulsing light in my life.

Rain Carnations

Lingering
never say die
from this flat line
rebirth

Sparks spike
on the graph
upside down vees
mean carbon’s awake

I flutter I shake I
bake back to life
ain’t been this good
since the last time

Break Slow

No wind
still arbors
living trees
in repose

Docile shaggy creatures
unwashed but scented
deeply of Mother
breathing

Absorb light
emit air
knee-deep
vernal pools

I am the sound
of the haze that’s risen
each morning heat cast
in winter chill

I am hope
pervasive
